Duty Types are the different types of packages you offer to your customers. In simpler terms, they help you define the type of usage of a vehicle. The duty types you create will further be used to create bookings, set pricing etc.
To get started, go to the Masters menu and click on Duty Types
Here you will see a few duty types that have been created for you
Select this if you would like to create a duty type based on hours and kilometers. With this, extra KM and extra HR would be automatically calculated once the usage crosses the set limit. This is mostly used in local duties within the same city.
This is to be used when you would like to set a minimum number of KM/day. Extras would be automatically calculated after the KM limit is crossed. You can set the duty type to always apply the driver outstation allowance by checking the box marked ‘Apply outstation allowance always’ while creating the duty type.
This duty type is to be used when you have monthly contracts with your customer where the total KM is calculated based on the usage in the entire month and the hours on a daily basis. Here extra KM would be calculated based on total KM used in a month and extra hours based on the daily limit. Also, you can set the number of days in a month, if the vehicle is used for extra days then Indecab will automatically calculate the cost of the extra day while generating the invoice as well.
Can be used in the same way as the above monthly duty type. The difference being that extra hours would be calculated on the total number of hours set for the entire month. For example, if total hours is set as 300 then extra hours would be calculated after the month hours usage crosses 300hrs.
As the name suggests, use Flatrate when you want to create a duty type where no extras would be charged irrespective of the usage. For example, if you have a fixed rate for Airport Transfers or intercity travel.
You can limit a duty type for use only in select cities. Read more about it here.
You can also auto-switch duty types in your duty slip calculations, based on various factors of vehicle usage like duty time elapsed, distance covered, or whichever is crossed first. Read more about it here.
